BP first responder clean-up workers, fishermen and community organizers will be traveling to Washington D.C. to join our voices with indigenous leaders, scientific experts, celebrities and environmentalists in opposing the proposed Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline. 




As a result of Gulf Coast communities' advocacy in Washington DC this weekend, a representative from the Department of Health and Human Services will join a community town hall meeting in New Orleans toni 
Today, I return to the Gulf Coast after my 1,243 mile walk to Washington. I walked to call for action from President Obama and Congress to end the BP disaster. And at the end of my walk, I met 10,000 energized, fired up youth who are organizing for a clean energy future, at the Power Shift 2011 youth climate summit.
New Orleans -- In an emotional public meeting yesterday, citizens from across the Gulf Coast urged the President's oil spill commission to help solve the growing health crisis here -- and got a pledge of support in return.
If last Saturday’s Rally for the Truth on Grand Isle, Louisiana is any indication, a lot of gulf coast residents are angry, sick, and tired.

Over six months have passed since the devastating loss of life in the Gulf of Mexico. On April 20 of this year,11 good men: Roy Wyatt Kemp, Blair Manuel, Dewey Revette, Shane Roshto, Jason Anderson, Aaron Dale Burkeen, Donald Clark, Stephen Curtis, Karl Kleppinger, Adam Weise and Gordon Jones; lost their lives in a few moments at sea.
