SCFFI event highlights include the SCFFI 2012 Town Hall: “Communities of Resilience - A Gulf Coast and Post-Sandy East Coast Update” at Loyola University and the SCFFI Fundraiser Gala and Awards at Tipitina’s, both taking place on Friday, November 30th.  The Town Hall will be connecting New Orleans and New York change-makers via livestream and Skype to discuss their experiences and the path forward.  Co-host organization for the Town Hall is The Mississippi Center for Justice and will be moderated by Grasshopper Mendoza of The Southeast Louisiana Water Challenge 2013 and The Horizon Initiative's Water Management Committee. The SCFFI Fundraiser Gala and Awards Showcase honors social change filmmakers and activists and will feature Honorary Chair, Anthony Hemingway (The Wire, ALI, Treme, Red Tails); SCFFI 2012 Filmmaker Honoree, Jon Bowermaster (SoLa, Louisiana Water Stories); social change stand-up comic, Jennifer Rawlings and New Orleans’ own 2-Cent TV youth literacy and arts troupe.
