FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

The Coastal Resilience Networks (CRest) is a new and exciting grant opportunity for the Pacific Islands, Gulf of Mexico, and West Coast regions. The program funds projects that help communities become more resilient to the threats posed by coastal hazards. Projects that connect existing federal, state, and local programs are very desirable, as are efforts that engage the public and include one or more of the following: preparedness, recovery, risk and vulnerability, adaptation, and under-served or under-represented populations.
For information on how to apply for CRest funding, visit www.csc.noaa.gov/funding  or email nos.psc.crest@noaa.gov

The Delta Working Group (DWG) is a coalition of over seventy academics, scientists, non-profit leaders, artists, and representatives of the seafood industry living and working in the Greater New Orleans region.  DWG has launched a web portal to facilitate donations for local non-profit organizations engaged in direct service and monitoring activity in response to the British Petroleum Offshore Drilling Disaster (BPODD).   More information can be found at http://www.urbanconservancy.org/issues/bp-drilling-disaster.  Contact:  Dana Eness dana@urbanconservancy.org or 504-232-7821

The Gulf Coast Fund (GCF) The Gulf Coast Fund was founded after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita by funders active in the Health and Environmental Funders Network (HEFN) and the Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA). The Fund is a collaborative pooled fund where those at the epicenter of the disasters have been effectively organized to inform and direct the use of philanthropic resources.  More information can be found at www.gulfcoastfund.org
