Community Guidelines, Publishing Guidelines and Proprietary Rights Agreement
BRIDGE THE GULF is a forum for citizen journalism and all contributors are asked to follow principles of Accuracy, Thoroughness, Fairness, Transparency and Independence. It is an open forum for citizen engagement and individuals are invited to present their personal experiences and perspectives. Bridge the Gulf does not advocate on behalf of particular individuals, organizations or agendas and the website should not be used to sell products or solicit donations. Community Guidelines
- Be respectful.
- We want Bridge the Gulf to be a welcoming space for intelligent discussion, and we expect participants to help us achieve this by notifying us of potential problems and helping each other to keep conversations inviting and intelligent.
- While we welcome debate, we reserve the right to remove any content that other users might find intolerant, hateful, abusive, obscene, offensive or threatening, or content that could be interpreted as such.
- We reserve the right to remove any content that represents a personal attack or violates the privacy of others.
- We reserve the right to remove any posts that we believe are commercial or otherwise spam-like or unrelated to the themes of Bridge the Gulf. We actively encourage users to flag it as such.
Publishing Guidelines
- Abide by our community guidelines and do not post material that is offensive.
- Do not post or link to content that is libelous, fraudulent, illegal, defamatory, harmful or threatening.
- Do not upload content that violates the privacy of others – make sure you have the consent of those you feature in media you upload.
- Do not spam the community with advertising or promotional materials.
- Do not upload materials that are protected by copyright unless you are the copyright holder, or have the permission of the copyright holder to do so.
- Make sure that you contextualize and tag your content accurately, responsibly and appropriately.
Proprietary Rights Agreement
Bridge the Gulf is accepting submission of photographs, audio, video and other materials. By submitting to Bridge the Gulf the attached photograph(s), text, audio, video or other materials, you acknowledge that our Proprietary Rights Agreement applies to your submission and our use of the Materials.
Bridge the Gulf does not claim any ownership rights in the text, files, images, photos, video, sounds, musical works, works of authorship, or any other materials (collectively, “Content”) that you post to Bridge the Gulf. After posting your Content to the Web site, you continue to retain all ownership rights in such Content, and you continue to have the right to use your Content in any way you choose.
By displaying or publishing (“posting”) any Content on or through Bridge the Gulf, you hereby grant to Bridge the Gulf a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable (through multiple tiers) license to (and give others the right to) use, copy, display, perform, distribute, adapt, modify and promote the Content that you post to Bridge the Gulf and in any other medium, now existing or hereafter developed, for educational, archival and non-commercial promotional use. Any license with respect to Content shall terminate immediately upon your removal of such Content from Bridge the Gulf. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary set forth herein, the license neither grants Bridge the Gulf the right to sell nor distribute your Content for any commercial purposes.
You represent and warrant that: (i) you own the Content posted by you on or through Bridge the Gulf or otherwise have the right to post the Content to Bridge the Gulf, and (ii) the posting of your Content on or through Bridge the Gulf does not violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, contract rights or any other rights of any person. You agree to pay for all royalties, fees, and any other monies owing any person by reason of any Content posted by you to or through Bridge the Gulf.
